Here you can specify the following settings:
Password Protection
By default, StopUSB is protected with a password so that only known users can change the settings of the program. This password is also required when you connect unknown external storage devices.
The default password is "demo".
Changing the Password
To change the password:
- Click the Change Password button.
- Specify the new password and confirm it in the Change Password dialog box.
- Click OK.
Note: You can change the password only in the registered version of StopUSB. The default password in the trial version is "demo".
Blocking Removable Storage Devices
StopUSB can block unknown removable storage devices with a password or without one.
Blocking with a Password
Ask for a password for unknown removable storage devices - Enables password protection for connecting storage devices. You can connect storage devices only after you enter the correct password.
Blocking without a Password
Disable the Ask for a password for unknown removable storage devices option to block all removable storage devices. The connection will be blocked immediately without the opportunity for entering the password for connecting the device.
Tray Icon
You can add the StopUSB program icon to the tray. You will then be able to access its main commands from the tray.
Show the tray icon - Enable this option to show the tray icon.
Remote Administration
You can permit remote administration using the StopUSB Enterprise management console. The administrator can access the StopUSB client and configure the program as needed.
Allow remote administration - Enables remote administration for the program.
This feature allows StopUSB to be deployed on a corporate network making it possible to manage the application from one location with StopUSB Enterprise.
