Protect and hide folders, files, drives. Security tools for hiding your files, folders, and drives.

Useful Hints

Drag and Drop support

You can drag and drop files and folders to Lock Folder XP.

Don't hide critical system files

DON'T hide folders that contain critical system files. If Windows needs a file that exists only in one of your hidden folders, it won't be able to find it until you make the folder visible. If you accidentally hide important system files, it is very possible that your computer won't boot correctly, and you'll need to restore the system manually. Other solution is to set System processes as trusted.

Locking removable media

If you do not want people running programs from CD-ROM drives or floppy drives i.e. your A drive, etc. — set only VISIBILITY access to them; that will prevent users from opening files from CD-ROMS and running programs from floppies.
